# What is paperwork costing you a year?

Eight questions. A full report on what your quotes, forms, process documents and reports cost a year, by email within one working day.

This calculator works out what your paperwork costs a year, from eight questions. Free, by email, within one working day.

## Where to send the report

The number, the working, how that compares with published figures, and what we would build for the work you described, starting with the part that pays back fastest. Written from your answers, in your inbox within one working day.

## What the report covers

- **Your numbers**: Hours a year on the work you described, what that is in people, and what it costs at a fully loaded rate for whoever does it.
- How much time you could get back each week.
- What the paperwork takes and costs you a year now, from your own answers.
- The likely saving, as a range.
- What we'd build first, if your answers point to one.
- Every step of the working, with its sources.
- What the figure leaves out.
- **What would be built first**: Which part of what you described to take on first and why, in hours. Whether it is one of the routes (Pipeline automation, Estimation, Lead qualification, Forms and documents, Automating CRM updating or Reporting), chasing in your voice, or something else.

- **What the number leaves out**: Mistakes, quote turnaround, and what you said eats the most time. None of that is in the headline figure, all of it is in the report.
- **The working**: Every figure shows how it was reached. The saving is a share of the time, never all of it, because a person still checks anything that matters. The method is set out below.
- **What happens next**: Nothing, unless you book the call. If you do, you find out whether it fits and leave with a rough estimate. The paid audit comes next. It works out what the paperwork costs you a year in your own figures, and what to build first. The quote comes from the audit: a fixed price for one route, with three options that cut scope rather than corners.

## How this is worked out

The same arithmetic runs in the report. Every step, with its inputs named. The figures themselves are in the report, not here.

1. **Hours a year** = hours a week your team spends on the work × weeks in a year × rework multiplier
2. **Rework multiplier** = one of three fixed factors, picked from how often a job starts with something missing (rarely, sometimes, most jobs)
3. **Hourly cost, per role** = median full-time pay for that role ÷ working hours in a year × loading for employer costs (National Insurance, pension, overheads)
4. **Hourly cost used** = the plain average of the hourly costs for every role you ticked
5. **Annual cost** = hours a year × hourly cost used
6. **Saving range** = annual cost × a low share of the time, up to annual cost × a high share of the time. The likely figure sits between them
7. **Hours removed** = hours a year × likely share
8. **In people** = hours a year ÷ working hours in a year for one person

Jobs a month, how often a mistake costs you, and what you use today go into the written report, not into the number.

These inputs are averages. The paid audit replaces them with your own figures.
