# Time back for the people who do the paperwork

Blake Fenwick has spent two years building bespoke AI automation for small-business paperwork. Who he is, what is running, and how we work.

Blake Fenwick, founder of Fenwick Automation. I build bespoke automation for UK small businesses weighed down by paperwork, from Kent.

Fenwick Automation builds bespoke automation for UK small businesses weighed down by paperwork. We take the repetitive document work - quotes, forms, process documents, client reporting - and turn it into a system that runs on your own rules, with a person still checking anything that matters.

Evenings and weekends go on the same documents: the quotes, the forms, the process documents, the monthly client reports. The people writing them copy last month's document and change the dates, and now and then they find the one line nobody changed after it went out.

Over the last two years I've built systems that give that time back: qualifying enquiries, quoting, pre-filling RAMS, keeping the record current and reporting. Claude, from Anthropic, is one step inside each of them, and a person still checks anything that matters. The [examples on the Work page](https://www.fenwickautomation.com/work.md) were built alongside the people who use them, and are running right now. Every system we build runs on Claude, in a plan you own, and around the software your team already uses. [Working across the county and the UK](https://www.fenwickautomation.com/kent.md).

That matters because I've seen where these things fail. Version one is always wrong in a way only the person doing the job can spot. Somebody's spreadsheet turns out to be holding the whole process together. Two people describe the same rule two different ways. I build for that from the start. Every system runs alongside the old way first, and a person signs off anything that costs money or safety.

Two years building this, with systems running right now. You can see some of them on the [Work page](https://www.fenwickautomation.com/work.md).

What I won't do: sell you software you don't need, quote a day rate and let the clock run, or automate a step where a mistake would hurt someone or cost you money. Book the 10-minute call and you leave with a rough estimate. The quote comes from the audit: a fixed price for one route, with three options that cut scope rather than corners.

## How we work

1. 01 10 minutes, free. You tell me the document that eats the most time. I tell you whether it fits and give you a rough estimate.
2. 02 We look at the real documents and the real data, work out what the paperwork costs you a year in your own figures, and write down what to build first.
3. 03 A fixed price for the first route, from the audit, with three options that cut scope rather than corners.
4. 04 You sign, the build starts.
5. 05 We find the gaps in your data before we build anything on top of them.
6. 06 One route. Your accounts, your rules, your templates.
7. 07 The system runs alongside the old way until your team trusts it. Not before.
8. 08 Your team runs it. We show them exactly where the sign-off lives.
9. 09 Monitoring, fixes, small changes. It keeps running.

- **You own everything**: Every tool, account and login is in your name from day one. If I disappeared tomorrow, the system would keep running and any competent developer could pick it up from the handover pack.
- **We sell the diagnosis, not the pitch**: The call tells you whether it fits and ends with a rough estimate: a range for the first route. The audit ends with what the paperwork costs you a year in your own figures, what to build first, and written findings. If the number is too small to be worth fixing, I'll say so.
- **We'd rather cut scope than price**: Every quote has three options. The smallest is a real, working system, not a demo. Ask for it cheaper and I'll take something out, not quote low and make it up later.
- **We tell you what will go wrong**: Your data has gaps. Somebody's spreadsheet is load-bearing. Version one will be wrong. I say this before you sign, and I build the parallel run in so it costs you nothing when it happens.

## Who owns what

Everything sits in accounts in your name. I hold one login.

The job system, the email, the documents and the system itself are yours from day one, with the rules written down in a handover pack. If I walked away tomorrow, the system would keep running. That is the test I build to. "What happens if you disappear?" is a fair question to ask before you [book the call](https://www.fenwickautomation.com/contact.md). The plain answer: it runs on a seat in your own plan. Keep paying for the seat and it keeps running. Remove the seat and it stops, the same as cancelling any software.

## In one line

Fenwick Automation builds bespoke automation for UK small businesses weighed down by paperwork. We take the repetitive document work - quotes, forms, process documents, client reporting - and turn it into a system that runs on your own rules, with a person still checking anything that matters.

That's the whole business. The [services page shows what I build](https://www.fenwickautomation.com/services.md), and the [calculator puts a number on your paperwork](https://www.fenwickautomation.com/calculator.md).

Most of the work is remote. We come to site if you ask.
